We are very pleased to announce that Robert Barker Design will be participating in the inaugural Inspire Cambridge presented by Velvet Magazine at Quy Mill Hotel 27-30 September.
Robert Barker is an RHS Gold Medal winning designer that brings together a passion for plants, people, nature, a love for modern architecture and an understanding of how a design can work in harmony with its environment to create a timeless landscape.
In 2016 at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show Robert was awarded a Gold Medal for his first show garden entitled The Red Thread. The Red Thread was featured on the BBC, ITV and in the press and media.
Robert is a modernist designer but he certainly is not a minimalist. For Robert, the design process is about bringing together his passion for plants, people, nature, his love for modern architecture and his understanding of how a design can work in harmony with its environment to create a timeless landscape.
Robert will also be giving talks and free consultations at the show. Make sure you visit his stand at the show in September or click here to visit his website.
We are very proud to announce that Jimmy's Cambridge is our chosen charity partner for 2018.
For over 20 years, Jimmy’s has been providing help for the homeless in Cambridge. They work with the local community, volunteers and partner agencies to deliver 24/7 emergency accommodation and supported housing for those who would otherwise be homeless or vulnerably housed.
"Jimmy’s Cambridge is proud to be invited to be a Charity Partner at this year’s Inspire Cambridge exhibition. We have been working with Cambridge’s homeless community since 1995 with a primary focus of moving individuals into safe, sustainable tenancies from the street. This 'street floor to front door' approach has been successful in moving on over 7,000 individuals in our existence. "
"We are particularly pleased to partner with Inspire during it's launch year. It affords us the opportunity to highlight issues within Cambridge itself as well as providing an insight as to the work we do everyday to secure accommodation for rough sleepers. So come along to the event for a fine exhibition quality products and services and see us there to help promote the plight of homeless individuals on our doorstep."
Make sure you visit the Jimmy's stand at Inspire Cambridge presented by Velvet Magazine to find out how you can donate or volunteer to help support the homeless community in Cambridge.

We are very happy to announce that Pinkster Gin will be showing off their fantastic range of gins and gin-based products at the inaugural Inspire Cambridge presented by Velvet Magazine.
Pinkster Gin came about when founder Stephen realised wine and beer no longer agreed with him. A keen maker of sloe liqueurs and other concoctions, he turned his attention to spirits and started experimenting at home, mashing assorted fruits with different spirit strengths. He wasn't intentionally creating a pink drink, it's just that after working his way through an entire fruit bowl, raspberry delivered the best flavour.
G&J Distillers, one of the world’s oldest gin distilleries, was recruited to the cause. They produce the core spirit with five botanicals to the Pinkster original recipe. They then macerate with a further three botanicals, including fresh, plump raspberries grown locally to their rural base outside Cambridge.
Judging by their growing band of admirers, it certainly seems that people are ready for something a little unusual to tickle their taste buds.
Pinkster makes a refreshingly different G&T, with a delicate flavour appealing both to seasoned gin drinkers and recent converts. Best of all, they recycle the raspberries, albeit slightly intoxicated, and sell them in farm shops and food halls as Boozy Berries and Gin Jam.
Head over to the Pinkster Gin table at Inspire Cambridge presented by Velvet Magazine, to discover the natural gin with a mischievous grin for yourself.
